Many people in the vaping community have been celebrating the landmark PHE-commissioned study that found vaping to be 95% safer than smoking. Dr. Attila Danko was among those celebrating the most, as these study results came only several weeks after Dr. Danko founded the anti-smoking charity organisation called New Nicotine Alliance Australia. The group is modeled after the U.K.’s own New Nicotine Alliance.
“This compelling report confirms the weight of reliable scientific evidence that e-cigarettes save lives,” Dr. Danko said of the PHE study.
He joins other doctors around the world who are speaking out in support of vaping. However, Dr. Danko speaks not only from a medical perspective but also as a former smoker who used vaping to quit. Who better to advocate for vapers rights than someone with extensive medical knowledge and firsthand experience?
Groups like the NNAA are especially important now. Australia, like most other nations where vaping has become popular, is still working through figuring out how and if it will regulate e cigarette use and the laws seem to be constantly shifting. With voices like Dr. Danko in the mix, we are hopeful that common sense will prevail and new laws will support vapers’ rights.
