How to Look After Your Vape
Aug 4, 2023
If you're a vaper, then you'll know that keeping your vape in good condition is essential for ensuring that it lasts as long as possible. And, if you're a vaping beginner you will need some helpful advice. In this article, we'll look at the best ways to care for your vape, and we'll also provide some tips for ensuring that your vape lasts as long as possible.
How to Prime Your Coil
Here are some quick tips for how to prime your coils. These steps will vary depending on the type of coil you have, so be sure to read this article carefully and consult with your vape's manual if there is any doubt about how to go about priming it. The more you know about how to clean your ecig, the better!
Prime Your Coil with E-Liquid
If you're using a tank that needs liquid primed before vaping or an atomizer that has flooded (has too much e-liquid), then you'll need to prime it by dripping liquid onto the wick until it reaches the coil head. You should do this every time before starting up again after taking a break from vaping; otherwise, all the liquid will eventually evaporate and you'll burn the wick.
Cleaning Your Tank
Cleaning your vape tank should be a very straightforward process, simply unscrew the tank from the device, take out the saturated coil and simply put it under warm water, this will help loosen up the built-up gunk. Make sure you do not use any harsh chemicals or cleaning products as this could damage the tank, and also make sure the tank is fully dry before screwing it back onto the device by simply using a clean tissue.
Cleaning Your Coil
There are a few different ways to clean your vape coils and how you do it will depend on the type of coil that you have. The best practice is to take out the saturated coil and put it under warm water, then use a toothbrush or a small brush to clean off any of the built-up gunk. Be very careful when cleaning your coils as you don't want to damage them in any way - if you're not sure how to go about it, then consult with the vape manual.
Using just warm water is generally enough to drench out all of the left-over vape oils from the coils, after you are confident that the colour of the cotton is close to white, you can begin using a tissue to place against the cotton to begin absorbing any leftover water inside the coil or you can simply use a hair-dryer or something with enough heat to evaporate any water left in the cotton, make sure you don't use too much heat as you can easily overheat the cotton and possibly even burn the wick entirely, having just warm temperature heat is enough to dry it.
How Often Should You Replace a Coil?
The frequency with which you should replace your vape coils depends on how often you use them. The more frequently, the sooner they will need to be replaced.
An early sign that you need to replace your vape coils is when they start tasting burnt. If this is happening, then it's probably time to throw them away and get some new ones
Another sign that it may be time for a new coil is how much the vapor volume has reduced even though you haven't changed how often or how long you use your vape. Over time, the flavour will start getting weaker and weaker until eventually, you can't taste anything at all - if this happens, then again it might be worth considering buying some replacements.
Should You Turn Your Vape Off After Every Use?
There are pros and cons to both arguments, so it ultimately comes down to personal preference. Turning your vape off after every use will help to conserve battery life and ensure that the device doesn't get too hot, but some people find that this can also be a bit of a hassle. On the other hand, leaving your vape on after every use can cause the battery to drain more quickly and might increase the likelihood of the device overheating, but it's much more convenient for some people. It's up to you how you go about it, but just ensure that if you're going to leave it on overnight, then it stands the risk of getting too hot.
